North American Debut of SieMatic S2 Kitchen Sets Industry Benchmark for Design and Integrated Technology
The next generation handle-free kitchen is now on display in New York’s A&D Building with new design elements and high-tech additions
(Feasterville, PA, November 18, 2010) — One year after its launch at the SieMatic Forum 2009 in Löhne, Germany, the innovative SieMatic S2 brings kitchen design to the next level in North America with its much-anticipated debut at the A&D Building in New York City. The next-generation, handle-free SieMatic S2 design offers a host of new features, including integration of high-tech electronics that raise the bar in terms of modernity and convenience in the kitchen. Topping the list of SieMatic S2 innovations is its revolutionary multimedia center, featuring SieMaticGrid, an award-winning graphical user interface developed by SieMatic through which the Internet and other media selections are controlled.
The multimedia center is housed within the elegant tall cabinets of the streamlined SieMatic S2, which is known for its recessed grips and a linear design that gives it its distinctive kitchen “living room” feel. Integrated technology within the multimedia center encompasses Internet access, iPod® docking, CD and DVD player, as well as TV and radio entertainment with superior picture and sound quality. Media selections are made with the multimedia center remote control or via the SieMaticGrid user interface.
SieMaticGrid avails conveniences including email, RSS feeds, such as news and weather, and photo and recipe databases within easy reach in the kitchen. While viewing a slideshow of vacation pictures, or watching a DVD movie or network cooking show in the SieMatic S2 kitchen, an upcoming feature of the integrated technology will also allow for monitoring of household tasks involving compatible appliances. The multimedia center monitor pulls out and swivels, so the screen is viewable regardless where in the kitchen one stands. The multimedia center offers space behind the monitor and within a pullout drawer that accommodates its wireless keyboard, air-mouse, remote control, and CDs and DVDs.
Also newly introduced for the SieMatic S2 is the premium interior system for drawers and cabinets in light oak finish combined with elements of white porcelain. New functional innovations include an extendable lower cabinet shelving system and pullouts offering additional storage space. Lower drawers are equipped with GripDeck anti-slip strips to ensure that kitchen utensils stay put. The SieMatic S2 kitchen is available in new colors and finishes in addition to combinations of premium materials, including lacquer, glass, stone, and wood.
Currently available in over 62 countries on five continents, SieMatic is an industry leader in the high-end kitchen segment with unyielding commitment to innovative engineering and manufacturing excellence. The company philosophy of complementing a lifestyle, not just offering a product, makes it unique in the industry. From manufacturing plant to showroom floor, SieMatic’s commitment to providing its customers with “the premium lifestyle they deserve” makes the SieMatic brand name synonymous with unparalleled luxury.
